Urban environments face growing stress: competing urban demands are fighting for scarce public space. More urban green space and more housing are important, but spatially conflicting needs. This is a difficult spatial puzzle. Urban Digital Twins, virtual replicas of cities that integrate data and advanced analytics, provide a powerful solution to this challenge. These tools enable custom analysis and simulation of urban interventions during the planning phase, offering valuable insights into potential outcomes before implementation. FME plays a pivotal role in integrating these elements, ensuring seamless data flow within the Digital Twin platform. This integration enables Urban Digital Twins to function as efficient and adaptable platforms, driving better local decision making for sustainable urban development. This presentation will dive deeper into the use of FME in Urban Digital Twins in a Dutch context, focussing on data quality, data integration and visualization.
