In a recent project, TRC undertook the modernization of a substantial Utility Network transformation from a Geometric Network to a cloud-hosted Utility Network. This complex process involved the migration of an extensive list of datasets, leveraging the capabilities of FME Form and Flow as the primary tools. FME played a pivotal role in the data migration process, facilitating transformations, feature creation, data enrichment, and remediation of Utility Network errors. Additionally, FME was instrumental in generating detailed reports, managing scheduled data exports, and mitigating lengthy data load times. This project demonstrates significant advancements in a scalable and efficient solution for data migration and processing to move to the Utility Network. This presentation will delve into the methodologies employed during the project, highlighting the challenges faced and the innovative solutions implemented to ensure a seamless transition to the modernized Utility Network.
