Deutsche Telekom, as a major telco provider, invest heavily in rejuvenating and extending its network infrastructure. To achieve the set target of 2 Mio/a new households connected it is vital to have all internal planning processes streamlined and automated. Interacting with numerous stakeholders, the information must be coherent and reliable. This is where FME comes in. Here we integrate various systems and data from multiple business domains to provide all required information for downstream processing in a standardized way. Here we give a short insight how we utilized the power of FME to integrate systems and process data to autogenerate construction plans for civil engineering works and right-of-way documentation for local authorities, thus accelerate the fiber rollout in Germany.Using automated workflows in FME, we perform spatial analysis on data from multiple sources. This leads to efficient, yet cost effective fiber layout design. Automation minimizes manual data handling and provides timely, accurate information for decision-making. DT is also committed to its social responsibilities, partnering with AmaliTech in Ghana, where we work with emerging young Africa tech talent on the fiber rollout implementation using FME. FME accelerates the productivity of new hires, enabling new team members to quickly grasp workflows and contribute to projects, thus ensures that both experienced and new professionals can swiftly become valuable members of the project teams.
