Presentation Details

This presentation highlights the development of an ambient air monitoring system for a $300 million engineer-procure-construct project at a new manufacturing facility. The system integrates a network of sensors with real-time data processing capabilities to monitor particulate matter concentrations and weather conditions, ensuring compliance with air quality regulations. Using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) tools—FME Flow and Workbench—sensor data is automatically processed, validated, and integrated into a centralized dashboard built with ArcGIS Online (AGOL). FME Flow automates workflows, including real-time data aggregation and regulatory alerts. The system leverages Survey123 to allow field staff to quickly collect supplemental information such as equipment status or maintenance needs, which is instantly integrated into the AGOL dashboard. This streamlined field data collection enhances situational awareness and supports rapid decision-making. Through AGOL dashboards, the system combines particulate and weather data with spatial analysis to deliver actionable insights. Automated processes ensure sensor connectivity, send offline alerts, and simplify regulatory reporting. This approach demonstrates how integrating FME, AGOL, and Survey123 enhances real-time data processing, field data collection, and compliance tracking, setting a new standard for environmental monitoring systems.
