Presentation Details

Portland Public Schools leveraged FME to automate the integration of their CAD, GIS, and IBM TRIRIGA systems, drastically reducing manual processes and ensuring data consistency across platforms. Cross-platform data integration is a common challenge for large organizations, often affecting data quality, speed, and creating silos. Through this automation, Portland Public Schools achieved an 80% reduction in data update time and a significant improvement in data accuracy. This talk will demonstrate how public institutions, government bodies and GIS users in general can utilize FME to modernize workflows, break down data silos, and ensure data-driven decision-making, offering practical strategies for digital transformation in large organizations. A few numbers to give you an idea of the magnitude of the project: 7 FME Form workspaces developed, 3 FME Flow automations deployed, 1 FME Flow app gallery created to manually trigger the process as needed, A whopping 1,000+ transformers used All delivered in 2 distinct environments (UAT/PROD) to guarantee greater stability during maintenance and the development of future enhancements to the solution.
