Learn From FME Experts

FME Experts from Safe Software will lead these specialized courses, and our partner, con terra, will also lead a specialized Python course.

Training Sessions will take place on Tuesday, May 6th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and include breakfast and lunch.

Scroll through our selection of Pre-Conference Training courses below:

Advanced Automations in FME Flow
With Automations, you can set up integration workflows to run on a schedule or in response to events even more quickly. FME Flow’s Automations interface enables users unfamiliar with scripting or web integrations to specify what they want done and when. Happy FME users refer to this as “Set it and Forget It.” We’ll equip learners to set up automated data integration for their organization so that data can flow freely without manual effort, covering advanced techniques including Automation parameters, the Automations writer, and the split-merge block.
Data Integration with ArcGIS and FME
Learn how to create Esri Geodatabase and ArcGIS Online translations and transformations, and work with data structures specifically for use in ArcGIS. Topics covered will include domains, subtypes, metadata, aliases, and other complexities related to Esri attributes and geometries. You will also gain a better understanding of the different ways FME and ArcGIS technology work together.
Data Virtualization with FME
Data virtualization lets you abstract data to let an application retrieve and process it without requiring any technical details. Our new data virtualization features in FME Form and Flow make it easy for organizations to put an API on top of their data so they can build applications. Come to this course to learn how to use FME to abstract data access and create your own API.
Dynamic Workflows
Dynamic workspaces let you create workflows for self-serve data integration, workflows that can be applied to any dataset regardless of its schema, or workflows that make maintenance easier because they won’t break when the underlying data changes. Learn about the components of dynamic workspaces and how to create them, from simple to advanced. This session includes training on the new and powerful SchemaScanner transformer.
FME Form Best Practices
FME Form is all about saving you time. This workshop will show you tips and tricks for faster Workspace authoring, including feature caching, partial runs, Visual Preview, and data-aware transformer dialogs. We’ll also cover features that show you how to Compare Workspaces and annotate your Parameters.
FME & AI
AI is everywhere and FME is no exception. This session will empower participants to effectively harness AI technologies within FME, enhancing their data transformation and analysis capabilities. Whether looking to optimise existing workflows or explore new AI-driven possibilities, the session provides practical insights and techniques. We’ll look at the foundational knowledge of FME and its application in AI-driven projects, explore the integration of AI services through the custom transformers available on the FME Hub. We’ll also learn how to interact with public AI services and discover methods to run queries against locally installed, non-public facing AI services, ensuring secure and efficient data processing.
Getting Started with APIs
Want to interact with APIs? Over 14,000 APIs are available publicly, opening up a whole new world of data, applications, sensors, and business systems for you to connect. We’ll show you how to access and integrate these APIs using FME so that you can connect to any web service with FME. Additionally, we’ll cover new functionality that lets you quickly start making API calls using the Open API specification.
Getting Started with Augmented Reality (FME AR)
In this hands-on course, you’ll learn to create and visualize AR content with FME. Our expert instructors will guide you through preparing data, generating AR models, and deploying them to mobile devices using the FMEAR app. By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills to implement AR projects, making your data more interactive and engaging.
Enhancing Database Workflows with FME
Dive deep into intermediate and advanced topics like optimizing performance, managing deployment environments, working with multiple geometry columns, configuring advanced JDBC parameters, ensuring robust security, and harnessing the processing power of your database. Learn practical tips, discover new techniques, and explore the latest advancements in FME’s database capabilities. Perfect for professionals looking to streamline their integration projects and stay ahead in the data-driven world.
Getting Started with FME
Are you new to FME? This course introduces the essential components and capabilities of FME through hands-on problem-solving exercises. It is a great start to becoming an efficient user of FME. Learn how to integrate with spreadsheets and spatial data, without any coding. No prior FME or GIS experience is required.
Powering up your FME Workspaces with Python
Learn how to use simple Python scripts to accomplish tasks beyond what’s possible with standard FME tools and transformers. Through practical coding exercises, you will execute Python scripts before, after, and during an FME translation. With FME supporting Python 3 for years, you will continue to be able to integrate Python into your FME workflows.
Real-Time Data Stream Processing
FME Form has long been able to work with event streams. Its strength, however, has been in bulk/batch-based processing. Recent releases of FME have made collecting and processing high-volume data streams in real time much easier and more powerful. You’ll learn about the use cases for working with high-volume data streams and build a workspace that can capture and process millions of events per minute. We’ll then publish our workflow to FME Flow, where we’ll introduce you to the FME Flow Streams feature that lets you infinitely scale processing and configure alerts to ensure your processing is always performing as expected.
